CZECH GRAND DESIGN  - 2024 - jewelry designer of the year

MgA. et MgA. Magdalena Šťastníková is a jewelry designer/artist. She graduated from the K.O.V. studio (Concept - Object - Meaning) at UMPRUM in Prague. Her work is characterized by abstract, organic, and even fluid forms, with jewelry that often extends beyond the boundaries of the human body into the space beyond. The relationship between jewelry and the body is the main theme of her work. Magdalena creates unisex jewelry that is wearable and can be combined in multiple ways. Magdalena brings softness to metal through techniques like working with wax and meticulously polishing, imbuing her designs with a tactile, approachable quality. Inspired by emotions, nature, and speculative ideas, she envisions jewelry as part of the skin's surface—an imaginary realm where humans and nature could exist in symbiosis—inviting a deeper sense of empathy. In addition to her collections and custom jewelry, she frequently collaborates with leading Czech fashion designers, and her work complements fashion shows. She was nominated for Jeweler of the Year at the Czech Grand Design Awards in 2021, 2022 and 2024. Since 2021, she has been leading her own brand under her name.
